I’ve been at work on something a bit different — a non-fiction book instead of a novel. I’m writing it with a co-author, the wise and multi-talented Mary Schramski. And we’re going to self-publish it. The book is called HAPPINESS REHAB: 8 Creative Steps to a More Joyful Life and in it we discuss the connection between happiness and creativity and attempt to help readers find more balance in their lives through tapping into their natural creative instincts. It is constructed like a workshop, with lots of fun and revealing exercises.
We need your help! We’re considering a couple of different covers for the book, and we like them both so much that we’re having a difficult time choosing between the two. I’m posting them here and I’d love you to vote on the one you like best. Choose the one that catches your eye the most, the one you’d be most inclined to pick up in a bookstore to see what it’s about. Leave a comment below with your vote, and next friday 10 voters will be chosen in a random drawing to win either one of my books (your choice) or a $5 Barnes and Noble gift certificate.
Here are the covers:
Cover Candidate #1
OR:
Please let me know what you think!
Cover Candidate #2 Becuase i see to many covers with hands like Twilight, etc. i haven’t seen a walking one so i go with the walking one!
Cover # 1, please.
#2…beach=happy!
Hey Jenny. I love the idea of this book. I wholeheartedly prefer the first book cover, the one with the pebbles. Something about it is freeing and reminiscent of embracing and reclaiming the simplicity of one’s childhood. The second cover, though beautiful, feels more generic of a self-help book.
Hope this helps!
#2. Might just be me, but I think more people relate to Footprints in the Sand rather than chakras. Both are nice, though.
I think I like cover #2, because walking on the beach makes me think of peace, serenity, and happiness. Just a thought… !
Cover #2- It fits with “Steps” in title. It grabs my attention more than #1.
Good luck!
I like the follow in my footsteps idea!
Tough decision, but I lean to #2 . . . taking steps toward something, a goal, a necessity, a life-dream, and doing so in a serene, thoughtful way.
I like them both and you probably couldn’t go wrong with either, but #1 speaks to me a little louder than the second one. I’m not sure why though! 🙂
My first thought is #1 because to get to happiness there are so many stepping stones of different sizes, etc. to overcome or put to the back.
I almost like #2 but I basically think feet are ugly. LOL
So I pick #1.
Great idea I can’t wait to get a copy!
I kind of like Cover #1 better. I just think its interesting 🙂
I like Cover Candidate #2 🙂
I really like the second cover better. This definitely catches my eye and would make me wanna see what its about. It is more simple and calm at the same time.
I pick cover number 2. Footprints in the sand.
Book cover 2 caught my eye the most I think.
I like #2 since I have a thing about footprints in the sand. Every time I go to the beach I take a pic of my feet in the sand or the waves, or a pic of my footprints. It makes me happy. 🙂
